How it Started
The Inspiration
Local Homeschool Expo was started by a homeschool mom of three amazing kids, ages 7 to 17. Like many of you, she was actively involved in groups, co-ops, and activities, yet she still felt a disconnect from the larger homeschool community. Planning for each school year was overwhelming. With so many extracurricular options, She spent countless hours online trying to figure out what would work best for her kids. That’s when she realized there had to be a better way to bring it all together.
Creating a One-Stop Homeschool Resource
One day, the idea hit her: What if there was a single event where homeschooling families could come together, meet local families, and explore all the extracurricular opportunities available for their children—all in one place? When she realized such an event didn’t exist, she decided to make it happen herself. She made calls, booked venues, and connected with local vendors, and soon the Local Homeschool Expo was born. Now, she travels from community to community, offering families a chance to discover resources and opportunities that enrich their homeschool experience. While we don’t sell curriculum books, we focus on vendors who offer services and activities that add value to your homeschooling journey.

The best part about the expo is that it’s always free to attend, family-friendly, and designed for kids of all ages—from 4 to 18. Whether you’re new to homeschooling, thinking about starting, or a seasoned homeschooler, there’s something for everyone.
